Flowers for Sale!
Spring Plants are 67% off at Michigan Bulb Company! You might want to use some for a science project. You could review the life cycle of plants, talk about what plants need to grow, and teach your children to care for plants! Plants are great homeschool resources!
Sorry I've been gone...a couple of deals today
Sorry, I've been "gone" for a few weeks. We've had funerals and family situations for the last little while. I wanted to let you know about two great deals today.
First...for the frugal...
Restaurants.com has 80% off gift certificates. It's only $2 for a $25 gift certificate. What's the catch? Well, you have to spend $35 on your order and pay 18% tip. So I figure it ends up costing me about $13 for a $35 meal. The certificates are printed off your computer and are good for a year. Check out your area :)
Second...for the frugal homeschool....
K12 is a complete online curriculum often used for charter schools. They are offering 20% off their summer courses. This includes the PowerSpeak foreign language courses and AP level.

FREE Microsoft Developer Software

Microsoft is making it's developer software including Visual Studio 2008, SQL Server Developer, and xna Game Developer 3.0, available for free. (See the screen shot.)
Since you must be affiliated with a high school, the homeschool buyers co-op has worked out a deal for homeschoolers. To get in on this offer, check it out here.
Microsoft also provides free online IT Training leading to Microsoft Certification. This free training is only available for students.
I hope someone has a happy high schooler today!

Free Phonics!
Entirely Free Phonics are hard to come by these days, but two really neat programs are in the public domain. Blend Phonics and Through the Phonics Barrier. An amazing man, Don Potter, has provided them and added some awesome supplementary materials for each program.
Blend phonics is wonderful for helping any new reader. Through the phonics barrier is auditory and has mp3 files and a free workbook. It is especially useful for struggling readers.
I hope you'll check them out! I am so excited about these, I'll keep you posted!

Coupons and Store Sales
Okay...coupons. You hate 'em or you love 'em. But if you combine them with sales you can get free food, and cheap food. My recent "hunt" yielded Betty Crocker frosting for 45cents, Taco Bell taco shells for 60cents, Taco Sauce for 60cents, Bagelfuls for 50cents, and Yoplait for 39cents each.
Where do you get the coupons? Use coupons.com or couponbug.com. Also, keep your Smart Source, Red Plum and Proctor and Gamble inserts from the Sunday paper.
How do you match it with a great deal? Let a computer do the work for you! I use two sites...Pinching Your Pennies and GrocerySmarts. At Grocery Smarts you need a passport for your state. In Utah/Idaho use g84csk. If you go to Pinching Your Pennies you will find state forums and you can get information there and a passport for the grocerysmarts site.
For a complete online "class" at Pinching Your Pennies see: Coupons 101!
I've listed my favorite coupon sites, blogs, and all else in my links box! Check it out!
